Selecting Batches on the menu will load the Batches screen. A list of all the batches are displayed. The batches screen allows the user to run, preview batch batch data, promote, add and edit batches.
To edit an existing batch, select the edit link of the batch. Select the Save button so save any changes applied to the batch details.
To add a new batch, select the Add button on the Batches screen. The Batch Control Panel will be loaded where batch properties can be set.
The batch name is entered and it allows for spaces between its characters. The batch group is usually left on the default value. The Active check box must be ticked for the batch run icon to be active on the batches screen.
The batch data source is selected on the Data Source tab, which is expanded by selecting the expand () link. The data source is selected from the Name drop down list. The Name Field is always the first column in the data source query which defines the Report or Notification name which the batch will call when run.
Reports or Notifications can be added to the batch. This will determine whether the batch will drive a report or a notification. The Report or notification name selected needs to match the name returned from the Name field selected from the data source above.
- Report Batch: select to expand the Reports tab. Select the Report from the available items list and the select the button to move the the report to the Selected items list.
- Notificatio batch: Select to expand the Notifications tab. Select the Notification from the available items list and the select the
button to move the the report to the Selected items list.
The parameter mapping tab allows the batch data source fields to be mapped to the report\notification parameters. This step will ensure that the parameters are passed to the report\notification upon running the batch. The drop down value column holds the fields from the batch data source.
Select Save to save the Batch.
